    Getting Ready for School?

    Stores are getting ready for their big back to school sales. Here are suggested student supply lists.

    SUMMER FUN CAFE - FREE LUNCH!

    2010 Summer Lunch Programs
    FREE Summer Lunches at San Diego Community Parks and San Diego Unified Schools. Open to the Public! NO enrollment, NO paperwork, NO income qualifications. All children ages 2-18 are welcome. Check the locations and times from the school or park lists and enjoy lunch Monday through Friday (except July 5) throughout the summer.

    Campus Cleanup Project - October 9, 2010

    On October 9th, Whitman Elementary will be teaming with Torrey Pines Christian Church for a campus beautification project. We want to make improvements and make our school SHINE for the 2010/2011 school year. We are looking for landscapers, painters, electricians and everybody else who can contribute to join us. If you are interested in being a part of this wonderful event, please email WhitmanPTA@WhitmanPTA.com with your contact information and we will add you to our contact list. Check back frequently for further details.

    First Day of School: September 7th.

    Classroom rosters will be posted in the school office the weekend before school begins.

    PTA Board 2010-2011

    We have not received any volunteers to fill the positions on next year's PTA Board. Budget cuts within the San Diego Unified School District have taken a great toll on funding to our schools and classrooms. PTA fundraising allows Whitman students to enjoy field trips, school assemblies and a variety of family events including our school carnival. Without a functioning PTA at Whitman our students will not have these opportunities. Please take the time to get involved and enhance your student's Whitman experience.
